Allen Jones

Allen Jones spent most of his working life as a professionally qualified mechanical and marine engineer. He also has extensive experience in business and project management. Following retirement he ran his own yacht chartering and sail training company.

In the past, he has been a governor and chair of governors for a local school as well as chair of the management committee of a charity restoring an ancient monument.  Currently he is a Trustee for a charity running his local village hall and also administers 140 acres of regulated common land as a not for profit organisation. Other experience includes being a director of a company limited by guarantee set up to buy a local pub as a community venture.

Having been active within the the ROHTCC for nine years he has played a full part in performing and also organised fund raising and social events for the chorus prior to it disbanding. The question Allen is most likely to ask is, "Why shouldn't there be an opera company in Thurrock?" “
